Get a FURminator

Anyone that has a dog with long hair knows that the hair becomes of everyday life and you find it everywhere – in your food, on your clothes, up your nose and other weird places. Coming into the house it seems like we never vacuum since there is hair all over the place.

The FURminator is advertised to reduce shedding by 90%. The advantage of the FURminator over a traditional brush for your dog is that it can get hair in the undercoat of your dog. It features a metal edge brush that helps to help get the undercoat and a comfy handle. This cuts down the overall time that we spend brushing our golden retriever. It comes in different sizes for long hair (over two inches in hair length) and short hair dogs (under two inches in hair length).

This brush has been AWESOME to reduce the shedding of our golden retriever. It works best when brushing dry hair. We still use a traditional brush to get out tangles and brush wet hair. Every time I use it I feel like we brush out a small puppy size golden retriever hairball.
